MONDAY

Monday March 19, 2007

Let me tell you what is so interesting to me about Michigan at this very exact moment. It is now like a blizzard outside, when just yesterday there wasnt a speck of snow on the ground, and then sun was shining. I am certainly not complaining, just amused by the different weather changes we get surprised with so often in MI.

Now, I know I have been a bad girl and have not been blogging. But, there wsas good reason, as there always is. First of all, I was busy with my mom because we finally just had a girls day out yesterday, complete with shopping, and getting our nails done. It was a very nice afternoon. And we just had a lot of fun. Plus, I wasnt really in the writig mood, which is odd for me, I know, but still, why write something if your heart isnt in it??

So, keep warm people

Recap of the Justin Timberlake Concert

March 12, 2007 Mid-afternoon

Well, of course on the day of the concert, I was trying my absolute best to make sure I could stay calm because of how excited I was. So, I spent the morning keeping busy to pass the time by until the show. So, Kenny picked me up around six o clock in the evening and we drove down to the Joe Louis Arena. Of course, when we showed up to the arena, it was jam-packed and filled with excited fans and parents of the fans as well. I got my goodies before the show, and then took my seat, which was awesome, and waited for the opening act. Pink was better than I thought, and then we were all in anticipation for the man of the night himself.

So, of course, when he came on, I was so excited and let me tell ya, he puts on a great show live. He is amazing, words cant even describe.

Now, the night going home, that is another story in and of itself. Kenny kept on bugging me ever since the intermission to go home. But, listen, I paid almost $200 for these tickets, so I was going to get my money's worth. So, when he was performing the last song, Kenny just decided to leave, and when I went out of the arena evem though the show was still going on, he was nowhere to be found. So, thank God for cell phones, and he refused to come into the arena to walk back to the car with me. So, I called my mom, and she got through to him and was able to make him come and get me. Then, he kept having a hard time finding me, even though I was right near him. So, when we finally got into the parking garage, I am telling you, we must have spent at least an hour looking for his truck. So, we went in this room where a bunch of people were waiting to find their cars as well, so a shuttle was going to come and take us to find our cars as soon as the lot cleared up, which was fine. But Kenny was acting really mean and snotty in the room, and he was not answering any of my questions, and then he says in front of everyone, can you just shut up?! So then, I finally stormed out, and called my mom and we just talked, and then while I was on the phone with her, he told me to find another way home. So, I ended up taking a taxi home, and Kenny never even bothered to call yesterday to make sure I was home okay.

So, he is offically dead to me now.

And that was my weekend

Friday, March 09, 2007

"Miss? The doctor will see you now," said the woman, and then she led me into your typical doctor's office. The walls adorned with medical certificates, and pictures of her oh so perfect family, and then the beautiful fish tank that drew my attention as soon as I walked in the room.
"Hello, there. You must be Shelly. Nice to meet you, have a seat," she said.
"Thanks," I said, and then sat in the comfy chair that she had in her office.

"So, why don't you start by telling me about when the two of you met, you and your husband?" she asked, while looking over the manilla folder which contained my information.
"OK," I said, happily remembering when we were in college freshman year.

I was attending the University of Vermont, as well as he was, and it was just from that first moment our eyes met, I just knew there was something so amazing about this man. When I would glance over at him and his guy friends, and see the way his eyes would light up as soon as one of his friends would say something funny, and the way his beautiful jet-black hair would shine from the sunlight in the room, just made me feel attracted to him immediately.

A couple of weeks had passed, and one day, out of the blue, he just happened to be walking out of the class the same time as I was, and then he asked me out.

"So, how would you like to go out with me this weekend?" he asked casually.
"I would love to," I replied, looking down at the ground as we were walking.
"Good, because I know the perfect place we can go eat that is far away from here," he replied.
"I will see you this weekend," I said, and then we parted ways for the day.

I was the most excited I have ever been in my whole life to be able to finally have a date with someone--and someone who I was very much attracted to.

"Wow!". A date with Jeff, he is like the most fun guy in all the campus,' said my best friend, and my roomate, Nancy, when we were in the room getting ready that weekend.
"You look beautiful Shelly," she said when we were done getting me ready for the night.

Then, there was a rap on the door, and I knew it was Jeff, and immediately I could feel the butterflies fluttering in my stomache as soon as I opened the door. "Hi, come on in," I said, when he arrived looking nice in jeans and a suit jacket.
"Wow, you look really nice tonight," he said, when he handed me some flowers.
"Thanks very much, I will go put these in water right away," I said, and then scurried into the kitchen.

"So, nice night tonight, huh?" he asked, while we were driving in the gentle Autumn breeze.
"Beautiful night. Fall has always been my favorite time of year, especially here in Vermont," I said, while looking at myself in the reflection mirror.
"You have lived here all your life?" he asked, while making a right turn down a dusty road.
"Yep. Born and raised," I said, and looked over at him and he smiled.

The place he took me to eat was really a cute little diner that I had never seen before with all of my years living here. The name of it was Mimi's Cafe, and it was really cute.

"Wow, what a cute little place, when did you find this?" I asked, as we walked inside.
"I was driving around one night, and just happened to come in here for some coffee, and just really liked it a lot," he said, and then we went to our table.

At the end of the night, I just knew that I was attracted to Jeff. There was just no doubt about it in my mind. I really felt something there with him.

"So, this is good-night," he said when he was dropping me off at my room.
"Yeah, this is good-night. I had the best time tonight, thanks so much for taking me out," I said.
"My pleasure. I am hoping to do it again very soon," he said with another smile.
"Yeah, that would be great.

And then, he leaned in, put his hand gently on my neck, and then stroked my skin and kissed me gently on the lips and then we looked up and smiled and then he left.

"Wow, that is a romantic story

Chapter One:

I don't really know what brought me here to Dr. Susan Andrews office. I was never one to like going to some complete stranger and telling them my personal thoughts and feelings. That just wasn't me. But, for some reason, it felt like my only hope at this point. I was desperate; I mean, my marriage was falling apart, my kids were not needing me as much as they used to, and I felt completely useless. So, as I made my way slowly into the office, there was an unusually perky blonde haired woman at the front desk chewing gum, and then she looked up at me from whatever trashy magazine she was looking through, and then she acknowledged me.

"Yes?" she asked, looking annoyed. Hey, I didn't want to be here any more than she did. I would much rather be watching Oprah on the couch with my cute little ducky slippers, but, I had no choice.
"I am here to see Dr. Susan," I replied, trying to look calm.
"Great. Fill out these forms and then she will be out as soon as she is done with Crazy Charlie," she said, and then chuckled to herself.

As I was filling out these forms, it reminded me of the time Jeff and I were filling out forms for our youngest daughter Abby when she was starting school.

"Would you look at some of these questions? I mean, the child is only four years old," he had said.
"I know, but this is what they need these days, I guess," I replied, and then we had laughed about it. Oh, had I missed those days.

Thursday Afternoon, March 8, 2007

So, the party is almost over, and I am getting a little teary eyed about it just because I have had so much fun this week looking over all the different blogs that have been so creative and it has just been amazing how much work all of you have put into each and every of your blogs.

I just want to say one more time how grateful I am that the girls from 5minutesformom came up with such an amazing idea, and I am praying that they will do it again next year because of all the progress that was made with this.

God Bless and always leave comments

Ultimate Blog Party

March 7, 2007

I don't know about all of you out there, but this has been the most fun week I have ever had. We have got to each give a little round of applause for the women over at 5minutesformom for putting this Ultimate Blog Party together for all of us! I mean, what a cool idea. I have never seen so many blogs in my life! It seems like each time I go over to the website to see who else might have popped up on the guest list, the list keeps getting longer and longer each day.

And how cool is it to just hop from one blog to another? I find this to be one of the coolest ideas and parties ever. I have been having so much fun looking at everyones blogs just for the simple reason that they are inspiring to me so that I can make my blog better. I really enjoy learning about all different people and what their interests are and why they started to blog. It will be sad when it all ends, I know, but we can at least all say we had some good times, laughed a lot, enjoyed the good food and music, and learned so much about all the different blogs we may have never saw before.

I am really looking forward to more blog-hoppin today, and can't wait to tell everyone my favorite blogs on Monday. And also, recap my faboluos outing to the Justin Timberlake concert on Saturday!!!!! So excited.

Day two of the Ultimate Blogging Party! Woo Hoo!!!

So, happy SATURDAY TO YOU ALL WHO MAY BE READING THIS RIGHT NOW!

So, right now, I just wanted to say a couple key things before you scoot off and then enjoy all the amazing blogs everyone has done so beautifully for this awesome events.

First of all, I don't attend too many parties, but when I do attend them, I like to be able to introduce myslef and have people tell me about themselves as well. so, here we go. My name is Shannon Melissa Parrish, and I have been blogging ever since October of last year, and really have enjoyed doing it, even though it has been hard to always post every single day. I am 18 years old, and am attending a local community college and am just a part-time student right now. I have no idea what kind of job I would like to have in the future, but hopefully I will know by the end of this year.

I live in the city of Livonia, Michigan, with just my mother and best friend Lisa. My father passed away when I was 7 years old, so it has pretty much just been my mom and I.

My favorite thing about blogging would have to be the ability to write all my feelings down, and have people appreciate them, and comment on them occasionally, and certain events like this one to let people know that there is a purpose for blogging, and it is a very fun hobby and you can just meet new people and make some freinds you are very likely to have for a lifetime and more.

My hobbies include school, reading romance novels a lot, watching reality tv when the show is good, watching old movies, hanging with family and friends, taking a ceramics class, and that pretty much sums it up for now.

Enjoy the party, and God Bless

Friday, March 02, 2007

Good mid- afternoon to all of you who may be stopping by to my Ultimate Blog Party! Are you as pumped as I am? Because, I am pretty pumped today about this whole thing. I have been browsing around on some of the blogs out there, and I must say, I am very impressed at how much work everyone puts into their pages, and it is really neat.

Now, what is the appropriate first thing you do when you may be attending a party such as this one, and you may not no one single person? Well, introduce yourself, of course! Which is what I plan on doing at this very moment.

My full name is Shannon Melissa Parrish, and I have lived in the awesome state of Detroit, Michigan for the last 11 years, and ultimately consider this to be my home. I am an only child living with my amazing mother and best friend Lisa. Today marks the 11th anniversary of the day my father passed away, so this party has helped me to somewhat cheer up a little bit.

I am a part-time student at a local community college, and had to leave my job because of a knee surgery that is coming up pretty soon. It is my first surgery ever, so just a little nervous about that whole thing.

Now, on my free time, I really enjoy just hanging around the house. I am a sucker for a good romantic movie, and book, love reality shows, well, some of them, and enjoy writing in my blog as much as I possibly can. So, lets get this party started!
