Day Seven

Day Seven:

October 31, 2006 Tuesday Evening

Well, today is Halloween, and my first one living in my new place. I heard from one of the neighbors near us that we normally don't get a lot of kids around here, but I have some candy stashed in the cupboard just in case some little ones come by for some candy.

Today was a low-key day today, which is always nice. I had my modern english grammar college class today, which is always interesting--especially today. Everything was going good in the class until we were selected into groups by the teacher. So, there was this one girl who acts like one of those smart-alecky people, we all know the type, right? Well, anyways, she really picks on my good friend Mike who is in the same class as me, and I know she says things about me too, which is fine, but when the teacher told her she would be in my group, she said one of the meanest things in the world. She looked right at me, and pointed when she said this, and said: " I have to work with her?" right in front of the whole class. Now, it took me some time to get over the shock of her non-college level behavior, but after some time had passed this afternoon, I really realized that I should not at all be bothered by this because she is only saying these things because she needs some kind of security for herself, because for some reason she seems very insecure if she is saying these sort of things still, at her age. So, I shrugged it off.

Now, I will not be going to my normal Child Development class on Thursday, so I got my study guide sent to me via e-mail by my wonderful instructor, which I was relieved about. The reason I am not going, is because Kenny is leaving tommorow to go to Arizona. He is looking at a college out there, so I wish him the best of luck.

Tonight, it is scary movies for me, and a nice relaxing bubble bath. Hope you all have a safe evening

God Bless,

Mellie/ Shannon

Day Six

Day Six:

Monday, October 30, 2006

Early Morning

Well, since this whole time change thing that has been going on, I am still not adjusted to the new time schedule. I had a rather busy weekend, which is why I have not posted in a couple of days. I will now fill you in on my busy weekend.

On Saturday morning, I woke up rather late, after a late night the night before, of going out to Denny's which is near our house. Then, I went to my ceramics class, which was nice because I have not gone in a really long time, and I got my grandmother's christmas present done. Then, I went with my grandma, my little cousin, and my aunt to go see the movie Open Season, which was a lot of fun. Then, we went to my favorite place to eat in all the world: Max and Erma's. There, I got an oreo milkshake and tortilla soup. Then, we went to go visit my grandpa in the hospital for awhile and I came home.

On Sunday, went to the hopsital and the mall. I will write tommorow.

Day Five

Day Four:

TGIF October 27, 2006

Friday Morning

Well Bloggers, can you believe I am actually up a little earlier than normal posting my blog? I know, I can't either. Before I get deep into writing this morning, I would just like to say a huge Mellie's Place thanks to Susie's space for commenting me on my blog. She was the first one to comment, and I hope that first comment will lead to many more for Mellie's place. So, thanks again for that nice note you sent me last night.

Now, on to my post. Well, the weather is pretty crummy again here in Livonia Michigan. It is rainy and cloudy, and lets just say I am very happy to be just here at home, and not out there in this messy weather. I don't have a whole lot to do this afternoon, except just a couple little things I am going to share now.

#1: I must be here for the cable and phone company so they can fix a minor problem for us. They said between 11-2, but you know your whole day is shot waiting for them to come, so I plan on just taking my time this morning.
#2: Doing some reading for my child development class, which I sadly missed yesterday for apartment reasons.
#3: I am looking for part-time evening jobs I can do to earn some money for those little things that come up that I want.
#4: Cleaning up around here, and I have a load of laundry in the dryer as I am writing right now.

What are your plans for this gloomy, or maybe sunny where you are, Friday? Please let me know what you are doing.

Hope you stop by Mellie's place again

God Bless,

Day Four

Day Four:

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Wow, my day has already come to an interesting halt, and it is barely even 10:00AM! Well, I had my college class today, which I mentioned in my post yesterday, and my best friend of 8 years, Kenny, was outside to pick me up just like he normally would do today. So, I am trying to lock my door with my key to the apartment, and the key either got stuck, or did just not want to lock. So, God bless Kenny, because he told me he would turn in my child observation for me, which I was working my little butt off to get it done and ready to meet my deadline, so that was a blessing in disguise.

I am just sitting here waiting for the maintenace staff to help me with the keys, help me set up our new security system, and do some other little things around here that need to be done. I also should throw in some laundry and wash the floor, since I have no school today or anything.

We also finally have enough sunlight here in Livonia today that I don't even need any lights on in my room. So, thats pretty cool. Hope all the bloggers reading this today are having an awesome day, and may God bless all your dreams and wishes.

Day Three

Day Three: October 25,2006

Wednesday Afternoon

Well, I am off to a little bit of a late start here this afternoon. I am still in my pajamas, if you can believe that. Ususally when I have my college class the day before, I am pretty exhausted, and enjoy to sleep a little later than ususal, but not too late. I had my english class, which I mentioned in my last blog, so I will not bore you with the details about that again.

Today is seeming to turn up to be a finally non-rainy day here in Michigan. The sun actually allowed itself to come shining into my window, which was awesome, because I could finally open up my blinds and see the world.

Kind of a sad night for Detroit last night, seeing as the Detroit Tigers were beat by The Cardinals last night. I didn't watch any of the game, because I was too busy being a girl and watching Gilmore Girls, which I almost fell asleep for the whole thing. Then, I hung out with my mom for awhile, and we both pretty much passed out for the night.

Today I actually have a lot to do, which is good, because I like to keep myself busy. I have a ton of catch-up reading to do for my child development class tommorow, which will take up most of my time. But before that, I am going to do the one thing that I think every girl enjoys sometimes: a nice, hot, bubble bath :) How nice it will be to relax my bones, and gear up for school. Then, I am going to do the chores around here, to help out my mom. I really like being able to help her with things, since she has taken on another job, and been working herself to the bone--literally!!! So, that is what my day is looking to be for today.

Then, I like to catch my episodes of Dr. PHIL, I know, pretty corny, but I like him sometimes. And then, I watch 7th heaven reruns, if there is time, and then Everwood, which I really like to watch more than ever, and then Gilmore Girls reruns. I know, pretty bad tv buff, but only if all my work is complete for the day.

I hope all of you bloggers are having an awesome day, and never be afraid to comment.

God Bless,

Mellie's Place :)

Day Two

Day Two: October 24, 2006

Tuesday Evening

Hello and good evening to all you bloggers out there hopefully reading this. Well, it has been a long day for me, and am happy it is almost coming to an end. I am just sitting in my bedroom, which I love very much, and watching another one of my favorite shows called Everwood. It has that small town feel to it, which many people will know I love very much.

So, what did I do today? Well, I had a very hard time wanting to get up this morning, which is pretty unusual for me. And then I listened to my favorite radio show, and got ready for my college class today. Now, I have been trying to get this boy in my class, Mark, to notice me, so for the last two weeks, I have been trying to wear makeup, and my nicest clothes.

And today, it finally happened: he has a girlfriend. I know, it hurts, but I will heal. Please comment

God Bless,

Mellie

My first post

Day one: October 23, 2006

Monday afternoon

Hello all my fellow bloggers out there. I hope you enjoy my posting each day, and I will hope to hear from you if you choose to leave me a comment. My real name is Shannon, but I also love my middle name, Melissa, which is what I have chosen to blog under. Anyways, I thought with my new blog underway, I would tell you a little bit about myself, so you know a little bit about the person you chose to read about.

My name is Shannon M. Parrish. I just turned 18 last month, and graduated from high school, so two awesome events all in the same year. I am now a new Livonia resident, along with my mother and best friend, Lisa. My mom works full-time at a law office, and then on some nights, at a car dealership. For now, my top priority is taking two classes at a small community college minutes from home. My major is child development, because I have always loved taking care of children.

I love to read, write, and occasionally hang out with friends.

Here are ten things I love:

1. Family
2. Home
3. Country Graphics
4. Scrapbooking
5. American Girl Dolls
6. Gilmore Girls
7. Books
8. School
9. Psychology
10. The girls next door

I hope you enjoyed my blog this afternoon. For now, may all your dreams and wishes come true, and you can make them happen if you would only believe.

Thanks for blogging with me, and God Bless

Melissa :)
